I personally liked BTN better then I liked HM: 64. I think it was the cooking thing that really did it over the top for me though. I mean if you could actually cook in HM: 64 then it would've been number one in my book.
If I had to pick between BTN and STH though I'd go with BTN 100% of the time. Though I do like the design of the Save the Homeland character over the AWL guy. STH Jack just looks better in my opinion. -------------------- ![]() Avy and Sig provided by Becky Tavern News: Aurora Chronicles: The Great War, Join if you like medieval RPs Pokemon: A Tale for Unsung Heroes Jim's attempt at a Pokemon RP. Oh I see, I didn't know it was a remake of 64 since I've never played it. But okay, it makes sense now. But it might've been a classic for people who didn't own a 64. It's not a remake of HM64. It's a completely different game, same similar plot points and characters. That's about it. And Comparing a PSX game to a PS2 game is just silly. -------------------- Who the f**k is Hyper Crush? ![]() Wii~ 4818 1733 8048 4686 |

I remember the moment I put down HM64 and started playing BTN, I thought, "WHAT THE H DID YOU GUYS DO?!"
I felt BTN ruined the original HM64 character relationships so badly it was a crying shame. Though, had I not been so attached to HM64 first, BTN could win my vote for this poll. Maybe. But I have to agree that the cooking in STH was a great deal of fun. -------------------- If I were a character in HM I'd be the shy and smart one, and I would go to red heart over Relaxtea, Sushi, and Chocolate Cake. It's not a remake of HM64. It's a completely different game, same similar plot points and characters. That's about it. Yes, it is a remake. No, it's not. A remake of a game is when you take everything from one and upgrade it, but leave the story/plot the same. The ONLY real similarities HM64 and Back to Nature have are the characters. That is it. Natsume obviously wanted a broader audience to appeal to and it was the most obvious and easiest way to do it. Are you going to call HM64 a remake of the original Harvest Moon? I mean, the characters are meant to be descendants and all that jazz. -------------------- Who the f**k is Hyper Crush? ![]() Wii~ 4818 1733 8048 4686 |

I mean, the characters are meant to be descendants and all that jazz. That's not what makes a remake a remake. Your flawed logic is saying that Sugar village for the PSP is not a remake of HM: Save the Homeland. The relationship between the four games are quite identical: HM: 64 ---> HM: BTN HM: STH ---> Sugar Village HM: 64 and BTN are practically the same exact game. Only differences are the consoles, the town, and the ability to cook. Other than that, the story, main character, sub characters, marriage candidates are almost the same. They just mixed up the families, and gave them new personalities. Therefore, making Harvest Moon: Back to Nature a remake. I mean seriously, I can pull out a bunch of other examples that are also similar. Ah my goddess TV is a remake of Ah My Goddess OVA. Chrono Trigger PSx and DS are remakes of Chrono Trigger SNES. The list goes on. -------------------- ![]() ![]() Visit my Harvest Moon Fanfic Website. http://www.harvestmoon4ever.net/Fanfics.html Submit your fanfics to immortalize them. Ask me how. I never thought of BTN being a remake of 64. When I think of remake, I think of the exact same game, with little noticeable differences such as improved graphics. This could be a very good debate..
But staying on topic.. Why even compare BTN to STH??? STH is just terrible.. -------------------- ![]() [RPG INFO] - Name: Chester Night - Age: 25 - Business: Mountain Carpenters ..Fast! Cheap! But staying on topic.. Why even compare BTN to STH??? STH is just terrible.. That quote alone is a terrible thing to say. Harvest Moon: Save the homeland is my second favorite game, Harvest Moon: 64 being my #1. I could write a 20 page report on why is the game awsome. Can you write how awsome BTN is in 20 pages? I think not! -------------------- ![]() ![]() Visit my Harvest Moon Fanfic Website. http://www.harvestmoon4ever.net/Fanfics.html Submit your fanfics to immortalize them. Ask me how. I think not! I could write a 20 page report on how hard the controls on BTN are to get used to. I just don't like STH for a few reasons.. Limited farming space, there's really no festivals, no marriage. There is a lot of empty lands in the game where they could've added more buildings, shops, etc. The game is rather spooky in some ways. I think if they added some voices in for the characters on the scenes it would've been better. it really seems dull. -------------------- ![]() [RPG INFO] - Name: Chester Night - Age: 25 - Business: Mountain Carpenters ..Fast! But since this game is the first 3-D Harvest Moon games, minor things like those are excusable. I did fell in love with the things that make the game great: Graphics are superior to most Harvest Moon titles to date. Music is excellent, no other Harvest Moon game comes even close. Characters are well drawn, have loads of personality, and are highly memorable. The 9 endings really got my interest. It's fresh, different, unique, and challenging. The game has no known glitches so far. No marriage! Finally, a Harvest Moon game that focuses more on story, than a make believe marriage to a pixelated sprite! The animals actually look like real animals! Characters behave semi randomly, which adds a realistic feel to the game. Horse Race! Endings and events can vary based on different actions. I have posted several rare events that most HM players have never seen before on You Tube. Characters demonstrate a full array of emotions. All other Harvest Moon games demonstrate only gay emotions like "Love" and "Friendship". Harvest Moon: Save the Homeland also demonstrates Envy, Sadness, Violence, Hatred, and rivalry, along with your typical Love, Happiness, Friendship, and Joy. (I know that someone is going to point out that other games also have negative emotions as well, but they are so faint, that it almost doesn't count) Dia in a goddess dress! That alone makes the whole game bathe in Awsome. Harvest Goddess has a name. Best Fishing mini-game in the entire series. As a guy, I typically don't befriend males in the HM series (Unless I play as a female farmer). In this game, the guys are cool (Except Parsley, he's lame). No 8 year old female pedophile magnet Lolita! Thumbs up for that! Trust me, the list goes on. . . As I mentioned earlier, the game has flaws, but BTN has so many more flaws, I cannot even begin to list them. It'll be easier to list the positive points of BTN, because the list is 1,000x shorter than the list of BTN's flaws. -------------------- ![]() ![]() Visit my Harvest Moon Fanfic Website. http://www.harvestmoon4ever.net/Fanfics.html Submit your fanfics to immortalize them. Altough I really did like the music and graphics. You've inspired me to play it again! Now I just need to hook up my PS2. Oh, and I also hate how the game just pauses for a moment right at 12PM on BTN. I'll reply again after i've played STH for a good time.. -------------------- ![]() [RPG INFO] - Name: Chester Night - Age: 25 - Business: Mountain Carpenters ..Fast! Cheap! Sturdy!
