QUOTE (DaAuCa @ May 21 2009, 09:01 PM) *
In the bible, Jesus ate fish. The fish is an animal. Need more to explain?
Also there were certain animals considered as "Impure" while others were "Pure"... But meat was included, the only thing that changed was the animal.

What do you mean some animals are "pure" and others are "impure", that is so silly. We are all "pure", gosh.... Any who, red meat (cow and pig) is filled with protein with is a huge part of our everyday needs, however, Protien is also found in red, and black beans, along with fish and a bunch of other foods, meaning that we dont need meat to survive. I personally choose chicken, turkey, and fish over Red meat, because its leaner, in my opinion tastes better, and whenever I eat red meat I dont feel so good. But mainly I stick with lots of veggies (yummmm), fruit, a little to much wheat and grains, and lots and lots of dairy. I also dont really consider fish a meat, because you can be vegetarian and still eat fish. I would be happier if we would save cows for milking though, pork/ham I can live without, but chicken and turkey are two meats that I refuse to give up

I understand where juxapose4ever is coming from, but also, if that were to happen, the world would just balance its self out like it always does.. But if need be, humans could adapt to living meat free.

Poor Defenseless animals are eaten by other poor defenseless animals.
we as human beings...are technically animals, therefore...we shall eat meat!
http://images.fanpop.com/images/image_uplo...786_860_504.jpg

I don't like meat all that much actually.
I was a vegetarian for 6 months..well...wouldn't call it VEGETARIAN...i still ate meat but only certain meat, meat that wasn't tainted. happy.png
Cooked all the way through meat that my friend butchered himself grin.png

we would be so overpopulated with the animals that we would normally eat.
Cows mostly. happy.png I live in Florida...all is see is cow farms.
and 100% of the world being a vegetarian would NOT be a good thing. Like Juxapose4ever said, we would be hurting the animals anyway.
Yes it's good to eat your fruits and veggies and we should all do so more often, it would probably lessen the obese population as well.
I don't like it when I see someone eating a steak that's pretty much mooing because it's so undercooked. THAT is nasty.
PETA also lies. happy.png I don't mean to sound like an awful person, but why don't we take care of ourselved first instead of worrying about poor little animals? what about the CHILDREN in africa? what about the ones all over the world being sold into slavery and being raped, molested, and abused. No offense to the animals but we Should at least put a little more effort helping our own kind than helping animals. Don't think I'm a "cold and heartless person" because I think this. I hate it when people say "animals are stupid they deserve to be beaten" or "they can't FEEL pain they don't HAVE emotions!" I don't believe that stuff. But we should help PEOPLE first, and in our spare time..help animals.

I just thought of something REALLY funny...Dolphins eating us. happy.png Dolphins are more intelligent..what if they started eating us humans?
XD I don't like the idea of being eated but I'd have to agree with the Dolphins..and it would cut down our population...so that would save the earth! ROFL!

-edit-
and oh! Protein also comes from Eggs and such...unless we're supposed to go vegan too?
I'm sorry but I can't stand Vegans...it's just like..."WHY?" taking their eggs and drinking their milk hurts them in some way or something? jeez. happy.png
If any of you are vegan then i'm sure you're a nice person, but I just don't understand what's so wrong about eating things that COME from animals. happy.png

and another thing I just noticed!! my signature. My ball python, monty, eating a poor defenseless mouse. If he can do it then why can't I? grin.png

Because if I didn't I'd be a vegetarian. And frankly, that's the last thing anyone should ever want to be.

I'm sorry, but I think being a vegetarian is silly. So don't eat meat, it's not going to change anything. There's still going to be homeless in America, starving children in Africa, and man kind is going to continue to eat meat.

Vegetarianism is completely unnatural in my opinion. Although I respect other people's right to choose what to eat, but I hate it when vegetarians tell me that eating meat is unnatural, while eating only vegetables is way more unnatural than eating meat.

Granted, eating only meat is not only unnatural, it's quite sick. If someone tried that, they would die rather quickly. I believe that eating a balanced meal including meats, veggies, fruits, grains, and dairy is a normal diet for the human race.

I also did a study, and I learned that our ancestors (The cavemen if you may allow me to say) ate more meat than we normally do. Besides that they didn't know how to cook broccoli and tofu, and never learned how to make bread yet, their biological structures were also designed to eat more meat. If you noticed our wisdom teeth that needs to be removed, those teeth are evidence that we had a bigger jaw hundreds of thousands of years ago. The bigger jaw was used for eating meat. But as the human race evolved, we changed, and the human jaw became smaller. Even so, we still grow the wisdom teeth, which needs to be removed.

I eat meat because I believe in "all in moderation". If I became a vegan or vegetarian, I'd be hungry all the time. If I only ate meat, though, I'd have stomach issues. And yet, giving up meat and replacing it with ice cream sundaes and potato chips would be bad, too.

Like others before me have said, even other animals still eat animals. I can't see any cruelty in a bear killing any 'defenseless creature' necessary in order to survive, especially when I think about that bear bringing some food home to its cute baby cubs.

Sure, no cow ever asks us to make it into delicious kobe beef. But with stupid things like taunting animals for laughs aside, we usually never ask, for instance, to get attacked by sharks when we just want to play at the beach, either.

If I live to be a hundred, I don't want to look back on a life of denying myself pepperoni pizza or a hot dog because I felt bad for an animal that died way too long before me. Life is short, and people shouldn't have to bear guilt over everything that's enjoyable.

I don't think eating meat is wrong at all. It's natural.

Though I really don't like eating the meat of an animal I know wasn't killed humanely. (though, you could always retaliate with a 'zomg animals don't kill their food humanely' it's still something I believe. =) )

But I also don't agree with the 'WE'RE MOAR IMPORTANT >8('. No... not... not really. happy.gif;

i don't like it when people are saying someone elses way of life is wrong.
it's pretty annoying. what makes their opinions so supirior?
honestly, i eat meat because it's pretty tasty and i consider myself a meat lover :].
my dads a vegetarian but he doesn't always say, "meat is bad! people who eat meat are bad!"
and i don't tell him his lifestyle is wrong either.
sure, i think it's kind of sad when i actually think about it and stuff,
and if there was a sub for meat that actually tasted like meat,
and that actually as good for you as meat is then i might switch over,
but currently there is nothing like that, so i'll stick to my meaty goodness.

In my opinion, why not Its good for you. If the why not reason is they are a living breathing animal, then what about plants. They are living and breathing, and they didnt ask to be eaten. Another thing is, If a cow could eat you it would, with out regret. I think, instead of brooding over that animal that is probably already dead, rotting away in the soil somewhere (well, the mushrooms and vultures are probably eating them.), just take a moment and think that their lives were not taken in vain, they died helping someone stay alive. You're not the reason for their death, so why not. Think of bunny rabbits and how they multiply, there isnt enough for a thousand rabbits to stay alive and have an equal share. But hey, its not like im forcing anyone to believe what i believe. :>

I'm extremely prejudiced towards hoofed-mammals. I feel that they are inferior to black/white/hispanic/asian/native american/european/middle-eastern humans, and should therefore be slaughtered wholesale for their sweet, delicious meat.

(Canadians and Australians don't count as humans)

Besides the whole "Why Not" reason, if we did not eat meat, then there would be many more, leading thus into a decline that could devastate the entire food chain. If we eat meat, then we have a way of regulating the population.

And with hunting, it is the same. We need to regulate the population, and why waste perfectly good meat when you can feed a family of four for about three to four months on an average sized dear?
